Director Zack Snyder played a significant role in elevating her career by casting her as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in the 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. This led her to star in the standalone Wonder Woman movie in 2017 directed by Patty Jenkins, making it the highest-grossing film by a solo female director in Hollywood history.
Jenkins is also directing the sequel Wonder Woman 1984 where Gadot will be seen reuniting with co-star Chris Pine. The movie is set for an August release, but there is uncertainty on whether the COVID-19 situation will impact its opening.
